Information on Personal IDs

As an administrator setting up payout details, you may be asked to provide your Personal ID. This ID varies by countries, but some examples include:

  • Canada: Social Insurance Number
  • USA: Social Security Number

We understand that this information is confidential and something you want to protect. We also understand you may be reluctant to provide this information.

Every country has its own set of rules about paying out funds to individuals and businesses. These are typically known as “Know Your Customer” (KYC) regulations. These regulations broadly require two things: collecting information, and verifying the information is accurate. Because SportyHQ is collecting money on your behalf, we have to be able to show that our customer's information is accurate and verified.

When you provide your personally ID, it's important to note that this information never touches our servers. It goes directly to our payments processor and their compliance officers who check the data for accuracy. SportyHQ never has access to this information and it is always transmitted over a secure, encrypted connection.

You may also be asked to provide a scan of your identity document. Again, we realize that this can be sensitive in nature. If you'd prefer not to provide the document association with your Personal ID, then you may try to submit another official ID, such as a scan of your Passport's photograph and identity page, or your Government Issues Drivers License.

If you have any additional questions on this information and why it is being requested, please feel free to contact our support team at support@sportyhq.com.
