Have been playing in Aberdeen for 3 years and everytime I come to this facility it’s the highlight of my week! I’ve played at the best clubs in the country and this tops them all, incredible service, lovely staff and always an amazing atmosphere. If you’re a squash player, get yourself here for a hit and a good laugh

Fantastic club.

One of the best clubs in the world. A welcoming community with a bright atmosphere with a hard working manager and a kind and pleasant membership. Some great members that have provided brilliant chat such as Keith Simpson and Stewart Morrison as well as some great regulars at the bar. The facilities are top notch with years of life to come and grow. I cannot give a greater recommendation.

Great club doing lots for junior and senior squash in the north east. Very friendly and social atmosphere.

The facilities, staff, management, volunteers and committee are first class.

Fantastic facilities, great club

I am a local resident who began using the bar facilities at ASRC in the wake of the pandemic, and have found both the patrons and staff at the club to be nothing but welcoming.

The squash-playing patrons eventually encouraged me to take up the sport which has led to an improvement in my general health, and provides a welcoming and readily-available social environment.

The management of the club have implemented a gradual programme of maintenance and improvement alongside an introduction of training programmes for players of all levels which has seen a large influx of new members and particularly junior members, providing a pipeline of squash players in what has traditionally been viewed as an older person’s sport.

ASRC has re-established itself as a key hub for the sport, and with continued development under the guidance of management, has a bright future.

ASRC is a great club with a vibrant and friendly atmosphere. The committee, club manager and staff are to be commended on all the work they put in to achieve this.

I joined ASRC in 2018 after working abroad for 20 years. Formally a member of Osborne Squash and Tennis club I was happy to be back playing squash although surprised at how small the squash community had become. I must say that in the past 12-18 months in particular i have seen great steps forward to improve the facilities and to grow the membership. We have dedicated coaches helping all levels of ability, a much busier club and with regular competitions and events being held. The bar and function area has been greatly improved and I do feel that the this is down to the current committee, management and staff. For me it’s a great place to come and play squash or racket ball and is a welcoming and fun place to be

I’ve been a member and regular player since 1983 and it’s good to see it returning to its halcyon days of the 1980/90s.
The club is as busy now as I can recall due to the efforts of the Committee, Management and Club Coaches.
Membership has increased across the board including juniors and Mini league participation is up.
It’s good to see the Club busy each night both on and off court.
Squash is a great sport and is flourishing at ASRC.

I have been a member of ASRC for around 20 years and I think that this year has seen a fantastic upturn in the quality of the facilities and the enthusiasm of the Committee and Management team. There has been a great upturn in membership which shows that the quality of the club is first class. There has been 50 new members this year alone with 177% increase in junior membership and 100% increase in the 18-30 age group. There are qualified coaches for all ages and grades encouraging everyone to be part of the overall club camaraderie. This would not happen if it were not for the Committee and management team making everyone feel welcome. Socially there are functions most weekend and there are regular National events. This all makes for a great buzz around the club. Long may it continue to be a leading club in Scotland.

The club boasts clean and up-to-date facilities, but better than that are the efforts of the current general manager and club captain (as of June 2025), who have repeatedly shown supportive and encouraging behaviour towards me, as an ordinary member of the club.

The club captain is honest and welcomes accountability when challenged and the general manager uses his position to continuously better the club’s offering.

I remain deeply satisfied with the current atmosphere and leadership.

Great Club and Great manager. Gave me a tour of the building in my first visit and introduced me to staff and fellow players.

Brilliant club. Friendly staff and members are always willing to help. Great social aspect who make everyone welcome regardless of ability or experience.

Great club. As a beginner to the game everyone has been very welcoming and helpful. The facilities are good and there are plenty of events to take part in.

The club lacks clean and up-to-date facilities, but more concerning is the conduct of the current general manager and club captain (as of June 2025), who have repeatedly shown discriminatory behaviour towards me, a member of a minority ethnic background. Despite initially receiving an apology email from the captain, the behaviour has continued.
I submitted evidence of similar conduct by other members, but management has taken no action in those cases, instead showing undue sensitivity towards me. The club captain has responded dishonestly and avoids accountability when challenged. These communications have been documented and will be shared with the authorities.
Additionally, the general manager has misused his position—for example, securing early bookings before the allowed time, which has been reported with supporting evidence.
The matter has been escalated to the relevant authorities in the hope of encouraging a more inclusive and respectful club environment. I remain deeply disappointed with the current atmosphere and leadership.

Horrible experience at this club!

As a junior squash player I have personally travelled as part of this club with a coach that smoked pot in a vehicle I was travelling in been personally alienated by Junior squash coach and other members because of where I’m from ( less affluent area in Aberdeen) ! This club promotes predatory behaviour! And I have witnessed several instances of this behaviour! I have been allowed to purchase drinks from a bar that I’m not allowed to buy from! Due to the age policy they have in place - have been exposed to damaging texts from league teams!
