PCC ROMO 2025 DOUBLES TOURNAMENT RULES
INDEMNITY AND SECURITY:
Whilst every precaution will be taken to ensure the safety and well-being of visitors and members to PCC, PCC will not be liable for any injury or illness sustained, or loss, damage or accident occurring whilst at the Club, no matter how such may have been caused, including as a result of negligence on the part of the servants, agents, staff, management or directors of the Club.
MATCH RULES:
1. Eyewear:
Protective eyewear is compulsory - not negotiable! All players must wear protective eyewear at all times on the court - any offending player will forfeit the matches until they comply.
2. Scoring:
A SECTIONS - Best of 3 games, PAR to 11, sudden death at 10-all
B and C SECTIONS - Best of 3 games, PAR to 15, sudden death at 14-all
3. Service:
Unless otherwise agreed by all 4 players, the team to serve first is determined by a spin of the racket. The nominated first server from the team winning the spin serves first and continues until a rally is lost. Then the team serving becomes the receiving team and the nominated first server from the other team serves and retains the service until that team loses a rally. The process is then repeated for the second server from each team. At the beginning of each game, teams must announce from which side each partner will receive service. At Hand Out, the server may elect which side to begin serving.
4. Player hit by the ball:
A stroke shall be awarded to any player who is hit by a ball that is struck directly towards the front wall. A let shall be played if a player is hit by a ball not struck directly to the front wall (but would get there) or if a player’s racket is struck by the ball on its way to the front wall.
5. Safety and fair play:
Safety of all players is the priority on the court. Also, all players are expected to display good sportsmanship at all times. These two aspects are compulsory to maximise the enjoyment and pleasure for everyone at the tournament.
