The draws came out way to late at night - after 21h00 most of the times. The communications was really not great. There were no card facilities at some venues and it made it very difficult. Also, there MUST be loud speakers at the venues. I saw and experienced so many kids loosing a match to a walkover whilst they were at the venue the entire time but it was impossible to hear when being called.

We knew the rain was coming in last few days so they should have played more than 1 game on day 1, then the doubles and back draw could have finished.

It was the first TSA Nationals for us. Few comments & suggestions;

- Warm-up court: Allocate warm-up courts to at least the semi-finalists and finalists. For instance, 7:00 to 7:30 for the 8:00 match players, and 7:30 to 8:00 for the 9:30 match players.
- Tournament format: Run the Nationals with a knock-out format, and then organize a separate Mini tournament with a backdraw from the Day 2 or Day 3. In this way, it is easier to proceed the Nationals as planned, while providing opportunities to those who were knocked out in the early rounds of the Nationals.
- Line call dispute/cheating: This should not be the responsibility of the officials. Parents and coaches need to direct players to the right path before the Nationals.
- Parents: Some parents need to learn how to support good tennis. It was disappointing to witness some parents making a loud noise on the opponent's double faults and/or UFEs. It was also interesting to see the different focuses of each family: winning now or developing a talent for the future.

Suggest the opening ceremony is done the evening before the 1st Match’s or the evening of the 1st Match’s ie. 2 x Singles Match’s can then be played the 1st Day.
No need for politics to be brought into Opening Ceremony speeches… oration was poor and left most wanting to leave or falling asleep.
No need to recite rules at the opening ceremony… merely refer players to them on the TSA site.
If at all possible more practice / warm-up courts are necessary in the morning… for participation of 500 players there are not nearly enough courts available before 1st match’s in the morning ie. Even arriving at 5:30-6am one was not assured of getting a court at any of the venues.

Taking into account even a week before and following regularly it was clearly evident that at a minimum one day would be lost to rain / wet courts, and likely more / or at a minimum more hours lost during the Tournament… however no cognizance was taken of this by having more match’s played upfront on the good weather days, later in the day and even evenings where venues had lights… if planning is not going to take weather forecasts into account then at least one extra day should be added to the Tournament and preferably an EXTRA Day AND regular schedule adjustments taking weather forecasts into account thereby playing more match’s on good weather days AND not having the opening ceremony taking up match time!!

A lot of money is spent to travel to Bloem every year for nationals. It rains every year!!!! Change the time of year it's held or rotate it to different provinces to make it more fair and accessible to all, like it is done for swimming and athletics in SA- especially if you want to make playing Nationals a requirement for being selected for CAT events! Was forced to play on wet courts on numerous occasions and on courts covered in sand- unacceptable. Tsa can really do better. The officials in general miserable and unhelpful. Forget the fancy opening ceremony, stop focusing on churning a profit and rather start investing in true talent. Offer the winners prize money!
