Very well done all involved

I would like to say a sincere thank you to everyone involved in organising this tournament. I had played very little squash in the past two years and I am really happy to be back. This tournament is largely responsible for my regained enthusiasm. A special word of praise for all the organisers, staff and volunteers in GLTC. Everyone was so nice, helpful and friendly to me over the weekend. I was asked to produce my Covid vaccination certificate on arrival and this reassured me that the rules were being adhered to and the risk posed by Covid was being managed professionally. The facilities, courts, showers, dressing rooms are second to none. GLTC is clearly one of the top squash facilities on the island of Ireland. I have one criticism to do with the pricing structure and perhaps this should be directed to Irish Squash? I travelled with my wife (who doesn't play squash) and I naturally had dinner with her on Friday and Saturday evening. I did avail of the delicious sandwiches and soup on Saturday afternoon. So, I paid the full €50 for entry and a sandwich and a bowl of soup! I think Irish Squash should offer two prices: One for tournament entry only at say €30 and another price including food. Shouldn't be too difficult to do?

A very well run event. Lots of club work prior to the event was evident. The courts are very well maintained and in excellent condition. The tournament went off without a hitch. Good company and good craic.
