Term 2 Junior Pennants

It’s time to enter Junior pennants for Term 2!
After many conversations and feedback from parents and junior coordinators, Junior Pennants will run in Term Two for four weeks, on Sunday mornings.
Players will get two matches, played using PAR, Best of 3.
Once all entries are received, players will be put into teams of three. Players will, where possible, be in a team for their club. Please liaise with Junior Coordinators about entering.
Pennants will start at 9:30 am and run until approximately 11:30 am for the first three weeks. On the final week, junior pennants will begin at 9 am.
Divisions will be worked out once teams have been created.
The cost is $20 per player.
The deadline for entering is 9/05/2022.
Dates and locations will be:
9:30- 11:30 am: 15/05/2022: The Squash Factory (Marmion Squash Club)
9:30- 11:30 am: 22/05/2022: Belmont Saints Squash Club
9:30- 11:30 am: 29/05/2022: Squashworld Mirrabooka (Mirrabooka Squash Club)
9 am-11 am: 19/6/2022: Squashworld Brentwood (Bluegum squash Club)
Term 2 Junior Pennant Rules
1. All matches will be played following the Official Rules for squash- authorised by WSF UNLESS stipulated by WA Squash. Modifications are allowed for players who are struggling to serve.
2. All juniors must always follow the 8 True Sport values. It is not okay for juniors to be hitting their racquets against the wall or displaying poor sportsmanship.
3. The junior who is “Refereeing” the match has the final say on any outcome during the match unless stipulated by WA Squash. Parents must encourage the players to do the refereeing and marking themselves. Juniors need to learn how to do these jobs themselves without added pressure.
4. Matches to be played using PAR, Best of 3.
5. Teams will be awarded one team point for each match won in the competition. There are no team points awarded for winning games or points during the match.
